Introduction

Mindfulness-based therapy combines meditation techniques with evidence-backed practices.

Mindfulness-based therapy can work alongside other therapeutic approaches by helping individuals develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and present-moment focus. It complements therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) by supporting clients to notice thoughts and feelings without judgement, which can enhance coping strategies and deepen therapeutic progress.

Mindfulness-based CBT was originally developed to support and prevent depression and relapse. This therapy combines CBT with mindful meditation elements. This model is also used with various other conditions such as stress, burnout, anxiety and sleep.
